A Day In The Life: Amanda Edwards

Mental Health Coordinator and AMHC President Amanda Edwards

Curious about what a day in the life looks like as a mental health coordinator? Here’s an average Thursday in the life of AMHC President Amanda Edwards:

"Nothing before 8am counts because kids gotta get to school and coffee needs to happen...

8:00 am - Respond to requests for pre-production meeting on an indie short with themes of dystopian grief

8:30 am - Walk with the husband

9:00 am - Work on developing a Concern Navigation Pathway for a local theatre company

9:30 am - Put finishing touches on a workshop "How to be a Safe Grown-Up Working in Youth Theatre" for a local youth theatre company

10:00 am - Commute to campus accompanied by an episode of “Stage Combat: The Podcast”

11:00 am - Teach Self-Care for Theatre

12:30 pm - Commute home listening to another podcast: “True Crime & Hollywood” (I’m a guest on the March 12 episode!)

1:00 pm - Lead an AMHC Board meeting

3:00 pm - Schedule meetings for an upcoming feature about pregnancy loss

4:00 pm - Shuttle kids around to all the activities and feed them dinner in stages as we go...

6:00 pm - Sit as an IDEA advocate during auditions for a third local theatre company

And to wrap it all up, I try for a good night’s sleep as tomorrow will be a 12 hour day on set!"
